While staying on top of these bills is the single largest determinant for consumer financial health, organizing and paying them can be a time-consuming and frustrating chore. We’re a rapidly growing startup looking for a strategic, creative, and collaborative Email Marketing Manager to join our communications team, helping to establish doxo as a thought leader in the Fintech space. This individual will lead email marketing strategy, execution, and production for doxo’s massive and growing doxoINSIGHTS program in an effort to secure regional media coverage across the nation. This role is a member of the Communications team and reports directly to the Head of Marketing Communications, yet will work closely with the rest of the marketing team to promote our unique data asset, doxoINSIGHTS: https://www.doxo.com/insights/.
The ideal candidate for this role will have expertise in utilizing email marketing systems along with a strong editorial judgment and a sense for content that will resonate with our core audience (the media). We anticipate about 20 percent of this role’s time be spent on program strategy, and 80 percent on email production, execution, and measurement. Candidates should be as equally comfortable working at a high strategic level as they are writing subject lines or building email sends.
In addition to this position requiring an expertise in email marketing, this individual should have excellent communications skills, effective writing and interpersonal skills, a team-player approach, and the ability to connect the dots between doxo’s data and what might be of interest to regional media outlets across more than 4000 cities and towns throughout the U.S. The ideal candidate will also be analytical and comfortable drawing and communicating regular insights from their work.
Build and maintain email marketing lists for core audience (journalists)
Create and deploy an engagement and retention strategy for audience that drives media coverage on a consistent basis
Work closely with the communications team to better understand target audiences and draw insights from ongoing outreach. Regularly communicate insights, and use data to optimize and improve program performance.
Work alongside the communications team to regularly produce email sends, including being responsible for email content, segmentation, and A/B testing within email marketing platform.
Work with the doxoINSIGHTS team and content writer to develop relevant content for email marketing campaigns.
Act as authority on email marketing best practices and share expertise.
A minimum of 3 years of progressive professional experience in a similar role in communications, journalism, marketing or a similar field.
The ideal candidate will be a sharp, creative strategist who can deliver an inspiring and engaging experience for the target audience.
Clear and compelling writing is a requirement, as is a willingness to learn, optimize, and try new things.
Direct experience in managing and building email sends within email software programs; expertise with Iterable a plus.
Understanding of best practices in email marketing
Excellent organizational and communications skills, with the ability to translate technical data into actionable insights, and marketing goals into effective campaigns
Can work independently and as part of a team
Proven ability to accomplish objectives and work proactively
Capacity for learning quickly in a fast-paced environment and handling multiple tasks simultaneously
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
